head wont separate????
hey guys anyone know a trick for getting heads off that are stuck. i have a 650 im trying to rebuild but i cant get the freaking head off. this was a salt water engine but it turns over just fine.

If all else fails, put the spark plugs back in and put the cylinder head nuts on loosely, then crank it.

Smack the hell out of it with a rubber mallet. You might have to put some lube on the studs cause they are corroded

you are rebuilding. fil the cylindres with water.plugs bag in and blow the head off

well i just wanna rebuild the top end wont water get in the crank if i do that

DON'T put water in it! You can put a little oil in it, then turn it slowly. Try to turn the drive coupling by hand. Don't use the starter or you might tear up the starter or bend a rod.
