    top speed ?

    my speedo is not working it is only showing 7mph at 7000 rpm full out.
    is 7000 rpms topped out for a 98 xl 760 and how fast would that roughly be? can anybody amswer that for me/// thanks

    If you really want to know i would consider buying a gps,tach for stock guages not accurate

    You really need a GPS to know your true speed as well as an aftermarket tach. Your probably going 47 mph.

    My gp1200 came with no speedo, i bought one on ebay and it works like yours does. I attempted adjust it up or down in the water but it still works intermitently. If i spin it by hand there is alot of vibration and wobble in it. Not sure why, maybe just old.

    GP760 will do 45 to 50 stock .. figure near the same for the slightly heaver xl ..
