Repitching solas prop for more RPM
I sent my 14/19 solas prop off today to impros to get it repitch to 14/18 to bring the rpm up more. My rpm dropped to 7700 because of the 110 degree summer heat. Dave said my speed will go up also with the rpm increase. I hope the rpm dont get to high riding in the cooler months over the winter hitting the rev limiter.
How many people are using the 14/18 pitch on their solas with good results?

Leave the prop alone and get your rpms out of a riva cold air filter or even a ppg power pipe! Trust me, it will work!

rendog i disagree 100% .. i have the riva power filter and ppg power pipe 4 mos ago i saw 8150 all day long .. now that it is high 90s I am seeing 7800 max .. the only way me and people like him are getting them rpms back are to pump the prop up a lil bit .... I persoanlly am just waiting to next yr to do it tho I live with the 2.5 mph loose until next yr

Well I guess some situations are different then others! I put a powerpipe on alone and went to miami. Picked up ski, weather was even hotter( around 100 degress), I hit 8100 all day! All I could get out of it before that was 7800 in 90-95 degree weather! Im not sure what mods he already has, but id like to know! Not real sure but I bet that where we live as far as sea level is a factor and other weather specs!

I tried Riva and PPG style of air intakes and still have heat fade. Any of those exhaust mods you dont notice any real gains in performance except for noise. Those mod might help a little on the low end (if your lucky to notice any) but nothing on top. It is just another one of those high markup waste of money mods that the companys know that customers will buy it.
