    New Record - 786 miles on a Sea-Doo!!!

Here's the new single day distance record of 786 miles by Dale Vranckx on an RXT iS...

Vranckx shattered the previous official world record of 642 miles, set on a Sea-Doo GTI 130 in 2008 by Mike Pagliccia in Florida. Vranckx had previously set an unofficial world record in 2007 by riding a Sea-Doo watercraft 751 miles in 24 hours on Lake Erie...

And who can forget the the long distance world record; 11,525 miles by John Moffatt:

YoYamma its something what the seadoos can do -- there is a retired banker close by in virginia beach he wrote a book called DreamRider - adventures on america's great loop - by Larry G. Harcum - he was starting his trip with a yamalog and the damn thing cought fire so he bought a seadoo gtx 155 he started in virginia -- down to the keys -- around to the gulf and up the mississippi to the great lakes and back down the coast -- he did 5,805 miles in one summer on his ski --- must been one hell of a summer for him -- there is a married couple close by in williamsburg va. -- they took their skis down to the keys and took a week riding them back up to hampton virginia -- the ones they rode where a gtx limited and a rxt -- these storys are what helped me to buy a seadoo when i 1st got into this

that was on sea-doo.net right after it happened, if you look at the pics of the GPS it shows the max speed as 70+. he obviously had a european ECU that doesn't limit the speed to 65 like the N. American ECU does.

the IS model that he was riding has a built in GPS that reports the speed to the ECU and the throttle is electronically controlled by the ECU to limit the speed to 65 mph. there is a pic showing max speed of 72 mph, and it's a stock ski. From what I understand stock IS models sold in the US are not supposed go over 65 mph, maybe this info was wrong.
