    Stator to CDI wiring

Hello All. I'm a newbie to the jetski world. I was given a 97 SL900 by my uncle. The ski is not running and my uncle was told by a mechanic that the stator was bad. So he decided he wasn't going to spend the money to repair the ski and that's how I ended up with it.
Anyway, after reading all the threads I could find about stator problems, I decided to try and install the ignition update kit to the ski. I have a couple of questions about the wiring. First are the black wires. The old stator and CDI had black wires that hooked directly to each other. The new black wires have grounding ends on them. My question is where do I ground them? To the screw on the terminal board or the screw that holds down the coil pack?
The second question is about the red/purple wire. It has two connections that go to the terminal board. Does it matter where each connection goes as long as they are both on the red/purple terminals? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am almost ready to see if she will start up.

on my sl900, the black wire with the crimped round connector goes to the allen screw that holds down the coil pack. One of the 2 red/pur wires connects to the circuit breaker that is in the same half as the coil pack, the other connects to the other half on the elec board.

Thanks for the help. I had the red/pur wire in the wrong place. After moving it to the circuit breaker in the other half of the elec. box, the jetski fired up. Without the Greenhulk site and all it's members, I would have never even tried this project. Thanks again.
