    maybe a stupid question

i just bought a used jim's ride plate for my 07 gtx -- i just got it in the mail today the guy i bought it from did a great job cleaning it up and mailing it to me in very short time -- but i just went out to compare it to the ride plate on my ski and i don't see any diffrence besides one being a bit more polished then the other -- what am i missing ? the jim's ride plate does not have the skegs on it and i knew that -- i was just wondering what is the diffrence in his 4-tech ride plate and the stock one -- thanks for any input

IF im not mistaking, Jim sands down the back of the plate some and grinds down the mounting bosses to suck the plate up to the hull more in the back..

look at the top side of the plate where the bolts go through. are the ridges machined off at the back bolts?

okay thanks i just looked and i see where the the back mounting bosses are machined down a bit -- and i may get the rubbing compound out and electric buffer to give the base that extra "shine" its already polished -- but can stand to be done again since its used --- next step will be to see how it does with and with-out the 2.5 wedge i have on the ski
