    98xl1200 or 2000xl1200?

    which is a better buy? the 98 as 20hp less but is 180lbs lighter. i ride in open ocean and i'm 350lbs. thanks

    if you take care of a few issues, the 2000 xl would be my choice..
    the 2000 has an "R" motor w/power vales ---more money to fix or replace but way better power up top..
    just my 2 pennys

    The 98 has more bottom end power and is more reliable.

    True but in the ocean I would take the 2000 for the ride quality.

    Get the 2000 XL Limited. It's got the 155hp motor, and there is not a thing about these motors that the guys here don't know about.
