R5 WaterX CC Racing Helmet Cam/Boat Footage - Mike Younts

Here are (albeit a little late) some of the videos taken from aboard Michael Yount's #800 boat on 8/16 and 8/17 at the final R5 WaterX closed course series rounds that were held at Gene's Powersports in Baytown, Tx.

Michael is sponsored by Cycle Plaza in Corpus Christi, Rogue Racing of the Austin area, and Skip of Team Moto in Florida.

Please excuse any debauchery that takes place prior to the racing in any of the clips.

    Saturday 8/16/09
Michael was red flagged during the first start so this is the second start...dead engine for him..makes for interesting viewing.

Though I can't say for certain it is above 70mph on average..they set it up differently for different kinds of racing. If i had to guess i'd say 72pmh give or take a few.

On most closed courses there is no way you can hit speeds that high besides maybe the start...so top end is irrelevant. In supercourse its so rough most of the time the weight/hookup of the 260 is a HUGE equalizer when you are comparing it to a faster rxp/t. To answer you question...yes he has and does still win plenty of races. Mike is one of the best riders to ever come out of Texas and has a long history of racing. He's been doing it since the beginning.

I can only take so much credit. Thank Mike for putting on the show!

    I figured so.

Maybe you should get that new RXT-X for the supercourse races New hull better for rougher waters and supposedly easier to get to higher speeds
