    A diesel jetski!!!? What the...

I am looking for constructive criticism as to why a diesel jetski wont work so I can take the time to figure a way around as many problems as I can before they show up.

"It's not gonna work" just because you think it wont is not constructive criticism. Give me a reason. Any reason.

All other, feel free to tell me why you think it wont work. In fact I need you to tell me why you think it wont work.

    So.....flame away!

Bro, of course it will work. The question is.. how much money and time do you want to put in to it?

Also, what kind of performance are you expecting?

Sure you'll have a one off diesel, but at what cost?

You could spend less money and be hitting 70+ on your RXP

Lol, good point, forgot to mention the goal.

I guess it will be a drag racer.

Stupefying - Mind Blowing Acceleration with a reasonable top speed #.
Something that will satisfy the publicity needs of the sponsors.
A ski that all "Faster" skis will have to work really hard to chase down before the traps.

If it tops out at mid 70 but puts enough real estate in front of a 80mph ski from the hole I think I could reach the traps first.

    Well,
you need to define YOUR goals a little better.

    For instance:
    - Mind Blowing Acceleration with a reasonable top speed #.
    1. Do you have a hull, and pump in mind? Seeing how this is not a car with 4 tires, you will need to determine what your setup will be AROUND the fuel burner.

Something that will satisfy the publicity needs of the sponsors.
    2. I'm not sure the "sponsors" are going to want a diesel ski belching a shit-ton of smoke over their local lakes like I see at the local drag strip. Personally, I think you have a very tall order, and could end up getting a whole lot of folks angry. Just sayin....

A ski that all "Faster" skis will have to work really hard to chase down before the traps.
    3. Roll over, pinch yourself, wake up. If you are asking HOW to do this on an open forum, then for you to catch some of these monsters already on the water, then you have a very long, expensive, and possibly disappointing road ahead of you.

    FYI,
A lot of your top skis are doing 85-90 in the 1/8 traps now.

Then I'll have to increase my initial lead

I have a couple of hulls in mind, and will continue research into pumps. I have no idea really on what pump handles large torque numbers best

A diesel does not always have to be "dirty" the new DI diesels are very clean producing very impressive power number using a small amount of fuel producing very little smoke and with the introduction of UREA injection, a huge reduction in NOx. There are sponsored diesel drag boats, why would sponsors overlook the first diesel jetski.

This is good, keep it coming

Im sure it could work but why even bother?
You were worried about pre-mixing fuel in a tank for a long ride so why would even consider a diesel engine in a PWC?
IMO, if you want to do a constructive project, stick a KAWI 260 motor in a gpr or a 454 chevy in the Yamaha SUV.
