Texas City Refinery Lab Technicians
BP is one of the largest oil and gas producers in America and is a major player in petroleum exploration and production around the world. BP is currently seeking Lab Technicians for its state-of-the-art laboratory which provides services to the BP Texas City Site.
Responsibilities include providing testing support for product specification verification and process control. Analyzing and processing unit control samples, blends, and finished products, as well as, performing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation. Positions work a 12 hour shift.
Minimum requirements include:
High school diploma/GED AND
A minimum of four years of analytical testing experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing laboratory OR
Two-year associate degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental technology OR
Four-year degree in a related science with a chemistry minor
If selected for hire, employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, including a hair test for which BP must be able to obtain a sufficient hair sample for analysis (~4 cm/1 ½" scalp, > 2 cm/¾"body – arms & armpits/legs/chest).
