Corrosion found on 08-SHO Cruiser 19hrs. (HELP)

Hey guys. I was prepping my ski for a big ride tomorrow and found a lot of corrosion on the back side of the eng.. I have always had a little bit of water in the bildge area which I posted about. I dont know what to do about this, because there are areas I cant get to with a wire brush. I sprayed the area down, but I know once it starts its there. What should I do. You guys might want to take a look at yours also, just by quick glance you would not notice it, but remove the eng. cover and look at the back side of eng.. Any inputs greatly apprciated..

Ride it with the seats off and see if there is any spray coming in. One member had a split in the plastic exhaust. This may help.

Thanks...I cleaned the inside real good today and actually found alot of the exhaust hose clamps pretty loose. Not sure if this could of been the problem, but I will find out tomorrow. I tried to clean as much of the corrosion off the motor block as I could and coated it good with CPC. Just hate to find things like this on a new ski.

well i know your not supposed to use WD40 on skis but as long as your only using it on metal I think your ok. Anyways, WD40 removes salt/ corrosion real good. I use it on my waterbox, supercharger assembly, and engine and no issues yet. I am VERY careful to only get it on metal surfaces. I only do this every 10 hours of so. Anyone else think this is ok to do because the wd40 is only being applied to metal surfaces?

I have never been a fan of WD 40 on plastic either..I would do just as you are doing. Although I would spray the inside with Salt Away(do you ride it in salt water?) and spray it with the CRC..careful, it's a great product but hard to get off your hands and you will smell it for days if you don't use a mask!) Also, make sure you pop the seats after use and sponge out the excess water..

    Yeah, pictures would help.

My engine got a good soaking of fluid film before it saw salt and my engine still looks brand new.

It has been shown to cause wiring harness issues in some cases.
Was documented on this site not too long ago.
