I have used them on several skis but never tried removing them. Here is an excerpt from their site. Soinds like you might want to call them for advice.

    Q. Is it possible to remove the KeelGuard, and if so, will it damage the gel coat?
    A.
In the unlikely event you need to remove a KeelGuard, it can be done. The 3M adhesive is designed to shear apart if enough strength and energy is exerted. Some of the adhesive will remain on the KeelGuard and some on the boat. The remaining adhesive can be removed from the boat with a plastic or nylon putty knife or a decal/pinstripe removal disk. We can provide more detailed instructions upon request.

I removed one from my Ski it was a PITA the tape they use is meant to stay. I started to peel it from the front and it took a lot of effort to peel it off. it left a lot of the tape on the ski I removed this with acetone. I spent at least two hours on this job.

Careful use of a heat gun helps to free up the glue and then it will come off.

    keel gaurd?

im just wondering do they effect the handling and or the speed of a ski?
i was told by the previous owner the ski GPS`d 70.5 consistantly before and after the keel gaurd was installed.from the looks of them i would think they would have to slow it down a little,, but i really dont know.

You might want to try one of the following products 3M adhesive remover,
Acetone, Or Denatured Alcohol. Heat may help also but be careful it could effect SMC material if enough is applied. It's more than likely still going to be a pain.
