    What causes this?

I took my heads off today so i can fix my broken pv and i found this. is this caused by water getting into the dome or is this normal? Im glad i took this thing apart,, i believe i am running pretty lean. luckily for me when the pv shaft broke it did`nt drop into the cylinder and hit the piston. The klotz r50 is not gumming up the valves at all and im still premixing 32:1 the cylinders still look like new.with the exception of the broken pv and being slightly lean the inside of this motor looks great.

Not lean you have piston wash. That is normal on the head.

It may very well be to much oil !! ive always run 32:1 so when i switched to the klotz r50 i just kept mixing at 32:1!
the tech at Klotz told me they dont really recommend running the R50 in pwc`s with pv`s cause they dont turn enough rpm`s,, this oil is designed for much higher rpm applications.
I told him what all i had done to the engine and the rpms i turn(7250) he said i would be very safe running 50:1 if i felt i needed the R50!!!! He said the klotz skicraft at 40:1 would be my better choice.

I like to run the klotz r50 in NonPV triple pipe skis at 32:1. For the pv skis I run dominator or interceptor would be a little bit better. All other skis I just run a good oil at 40:1

I was wondering that myself and the more i think about it the last day i rode my ski i rode with my nephew at a new area. just before i trailered the ski at the end of the day i had to go through a 150 yard no wake zone and i could tell the 50mm buckshots were loading up like crazy before i got it back on the trailer. that may have caused all the excess oil in the domes.
