    Water in hull

    Guys,
Did a search & didn't find anything on this. We took the ski's out this weekend & after riding I noticed 4" + of water in the hull of on my '89 500 waverunner. I ran it on the hose & water circulates through the engine and exits by the exhaust as normal, but isn't draining from the hull. Any ideas??

    Thanks,
    007GPR08

Put the ski in the water on the trailer and run it. Or ride a few without the seat on to see where its coming from. If the water is warm its coming from the motor and cooler water you possibly have a leak some where in the hull causing water to come in.

Thanks xsockguyx. Question: Shouldn't the water be pumping out of the hull with the engine running?

Yea there is a bilge pump located under the the driveshaft behind the engine if you remove the driveshaft cover you will see it down under the shaft check to see if any hoses have come off.

Thanks lifestoshort & hydortherapy. I'll check the repair manual to see if there are hoses listed and if not will place back into water & check for leaks.

    Thanks again guys!!

Also, fill the hull with a few inches of water, tilt the ski up at the nose, and watch for leaks coming out of the hull.

    Question

OK Guys, so check this out. I left the water in the hull to look for any leaks --nowhere did I see water leaking from the hull. I vacuumed out 12.5 gallons of water. I know when my wife was done riding & we were getting off the ski's she turned it over on it's side --only for 5-6 seconds. Believe me, with this little ski I routinely throw it around, and this isn't the 1st time it's fallen over, and I've never experienced this before. She also said it felt 'top heavy' almost the entire hour we rode, which makes since with 100lbs of water in the hull (8lbs=1-gallon). Question: does anyone KNOW for sure if this ski is supposed to pump the water out of the hull? I'm not sure where the pump would be located or what it looks like, but certainly would have to have a pump.

    Help is appreciated!!
