Just drill a bigger access hole LOL!

I had to take and belt sand the 5 or 6mm deepwell 1/4 inch drive socket i used to take it off.

If you don't like having the mirrors like i do, you could go with a 95-97sp or spi hood. They don't have mirrors and also just 1 gauge pod up front. I took my multi gauge and put it there and since i don't use the vts gauge or the vts i sold that. The speedo is worthless sell it.

When it came time to prep the hood i took a sand blaster with glass bead and roughed up the surface so that my paint would bite better.

If your painting it black, Krylon makes a paint called FUSHION and you can buy it at wally world. That paint is made for plastic since it has a flex agent in the paint, so you don't end up with stress cracks in your paint job. You also don't need to primer the hood it says.

Make sure if you use a clear coat that it has a flex agent in it also or it will stress crack from, jumping waves and general bouncing around.

    Good luck.

PS you will need a detent tool to safetly remove the wires from the plug harness if you plan on taking the gauges out.
