Anyone know of a dealer in the cleveland area that will look at a older polaris they all tell me its to old. I was told they only work on 2003 and up, I have a 97 sltx. If u have the name of a small shop that would look at it that would help. Thanks

Bought with the motor froze, got real cheap. Took it all apart has a spun bearing, burnt piston, small scrapes in the cases.

you can get a whole rebuilt for about $1100.00 and you do it all yourself.

or you have no knowledge or mechanically inclined huh?

No, i have some mechanical skills. Was just wondering if any of those parts could be machined or rebuilt. 3 dealers all just say cant help you to old, no referances to any one that could. They all said to just order a short block from sbt, I thought would be cheaper to buy what i absolutly needed, and fix what can be fixed.

you can do it all yourself for about $700-$900 in parts. IF the crank can be rebuilt.

    Crank
    Bore/hone
    Top end kit
    gaskets
    carb rebuild/kits
    new fuel lines
    etc

Its all here on GH, do some searching

    Welcome to the Hulk Jeff.

Only place I can think of is South East on Rt. 43. I bet they won't even want to work on it though.

You might try some local independant repair shops.

I've got a guy here in mentor that would work on it, but you really should consider doing the work on your own. Or get another engine off Ebay, John Zigler, ShortblockRus.com, etc......
