RXPX Speed Difference 82mm vs 83mm Nozzle

I just went from an 87 mm (stock) to an 82mm (Recommended nozzle size from Riva for Riva stage 1) on an 09 p-x. I gained 1.3 mph top speed gps.

Has anyone tried the top speed difference from an 82mm to an 83mm on a p-x?

    I'm curious.......

I haven't tried a different nozzle yet, but I am interested to hear what your RPM difference was.

I see about .5 mph loss from 82mm to 83mm, and about 20 rpm gain.

My rpm's droppped from 8060 to peaking at 8000..... Does the solas 15/22 bring rpm's up or down out of the box?

Depends on where your rpms are and what prop is pitched too. If your moving the motor into a better torque area its most likely will pick up if not hitting the limiter. Make sense??

I'm not understanding, but I am trying!! I have the stock prop installed on my machine. How would I know what to pitch the new prop to without actually installing it, reading rpm's then having pitched? Is that impossible to do?

Ive found the 83mm nozzle to be the best nozzle for the PX. You can feel the holeshot difference between 82, and 83, and I actually lost speed. First mod I did on my PX was to put a B-kit on it. The oem X impeller with the oem pitch is a brick wall around low 70's. A different, or repitched impeller will yeild you the most top speed gain.

For me... the hole shot was so bad with the 82 I didn't even test speeds. I really liked the 84.5mm but that gives up too much top end.

I've heard people say that a Solas 15/22R can be modded to give the same (or better) holeshot with an 83mm nozzle as with the same prop setup for the 87mm nozzle. Has anyone found this to be true?
