    Pro-Tec Intake Grate (GP1200/1300R)

    Pic
    http://www.pro-tecperformance.com/images/1300-GRATE.jpg

    Per the PhillipGPR thread:
"The ski has been known to buck (jackknife at high speeds - very bad) using a stock Worx or Pro-Tec grate"

However, based on the searches I've done, this intake grate is just fine at speeds up to 75+

    Comments?

Based on this thread, you just have to let off easy from a top speed run (?)

I did testing years ago on every known intake grate (which included everything but the 800 grate because we hadn't discovered that one yet). I put up a post about it on the old Riva forum, but I'm too lazy to find the link.

I recall the protec being very good up to the low to mid 70's then giving a rearend buck that scared the hell out of me. I presumed it was caused by overstuffing of the pump.

Protec makes good quality stuff, unlike the POS grates put out by R&D.

Interesting. Right now I have the 800 grate, just wondering if I should switch, I don't want to get tossed off the ski, and I spend a fair amount of time > 70. Holeshot sucks though. How was the holeshot on the Pro-Tec? Did you let off the throttle when it bucked?

I notice that the RIVA single bar grate for the 1200 was discontined, anyone ever tried that one? The RIVA and Pro-Tec two bar grates look very similar
