Riva saying to remove the wedge, others is saying if you have a RXP to remove the wedge, if you have a RXT to stay with the wedge. If some1 already completed some testing please can you report in. I have not yet dealt with an open loop ride plate, but I will offer this.

Note: This concerns RXT/GTX skis only.

Every modified plate I have installed has performed better with the wedge. Even the one with the rear mounting tabs ground down so much that I had to trim the sides of the plate for it to fit... and the one I belt sanded until the rear assembly screw holes were exposed. I have never had a problem with porpoising, handling, or stuffing. In fact, today I am testing the "altered hull" GTX and if it does what I expect, I am going to stack two, 2 degree wedges and see what happens.

I'll bet you will be fine with the wedge on the open loop plate... just approach it slowly as you test your top speeds.

    jmho,

    Jeff

    Guys

JD 1 specifically said that the wedge negated the speed increase and to NOT USE IT...Just a heads up...I have had my riva plate since Tues and love it on the RXP, the nose lift great and i have picked up about 100 rpms, just starting testing the weekend...

yes I hear ya guys with the RXP's but with a RXT and the added length of the ski and extra weight I dont see how removing the wedge can help.

If you have a wedge, try it before you go and sell it. I am just thinking on the RXT/GTX without VTS, you may have a holeshot problem esp. running the wedge, too. You will not be able to keep the nose down and ventilate on holeshot.
