Will the higher 2010 MSRP increase the value of the used SeaDoos

Just noticed that the RXT for 2010 is going to be $1400 more expensive than a 2009. The MSRP is going from $12K to $13.4K.

It looks like a lot of folks that want to get into this sport next year may go the used route due to the amount of money a new one will cost.

MSRP increase + maybe more buyers = higher resale value

That looks like my plan of action too, get a lightly used one with 5 year warranty.

    It's an interesting thought.
Guys don't get hung up on the MSRP's, based on my experience I think
if you are patient and drive a hard bargain you can always get one of these
new musclecraft for around $10K street price; just shop around and be willing to walk away.

be willing to walk away is the best advice you can give! tell them what you want to pay, when they say no walk out. come back a week later and play some hard ball. have a check written out with what you wanna pay too, show them that and its a whole new ball game. all this works if you dont have to finance anything and are just paying outright

A new version of my GTX 155 has gone up $1900 in the eight years since I bought it in 2002.

This is the first year there are significant changes.

    A 2002 GTX 155 was $9700 in 2002.

If you adjust for inflation, that's $11547.32 in 2008 dollars.

    A 2010 GTX 155 is $11,599.

If you take into consideration the two years of inflation from 2008 to 2010, the price of a GTX 155 has actually gone down.

I think it depends on area. In theory, some areas, the people that can drop $28k on a pair of skis and a trailer who are just getting started, probably have enough money that they don't care about the 1.4k difference. The more sensible person starting off probably will buy used. So my guess is that in some areas it will help, others it will hurt.

the housing bust has devalued everything..cash is tight, credit tight, values off due to equity loans not available. In two yrs , fuel back up over $3 and jetski's/boats suffer more.

buy it and enjoy life..dont worry about values holding up.
