    Bendix Washer.....

As some of you know, I ave been having starter bendix issues. I just pulled it out, and thouroughly cleaned it with PB blaster. It jumps forward as freely as you could ever want it to now by hand. (As in rapidly twist it with your wrist while holding it.)

Now.... Before I reinstall everything, I was looking at the washer that goes between the bendix, and the front cover... This thing doesn't look right, nor does it really "fit".. Have a look at the pic, and you will see what I mean. Is this the correct washer? Does one even belong there?

Should be a flat washer. Should not fit tight into the opening. Is it tight? That washer has a lip on it, does it slide inside the spring? Dont see why it wouldnt work unless its sticking.
    Whats the thickness?

Not sure of the thickness, but it has that same "protrusion" on both sides.

It doesn't fit tight, or even snug over the bendix shaft. I can take pictures of it on the bendix if need be.

And that lip, or protrusion does not fit inside where the spring is....

I would be concerned about the washer 'lip' sitting inside of the spring on 1 side , making the washer sit at a slight angle IF the washer has too much clearance inside the sleeve. Cant tell by the pics....why not get the correct washer and be done.

I would love to if I knew I could use a standard flat washer. Don't know what thickness to get. Obviously it would be made of SS. Hardware store closes in 2 hours!

But it appears that his washer also has that lip on it. Plus, is the GPR bendix the same as my 64X?
