Tomorrow is test day
Well tomorrow is the big day for me.
A few weeks ago I bought a GP1300R that was in rough shape (hole in hull, cat problems... generally beat to shit). After a week or so of grinding, fiberglassing and polishing she was ready for a test run. We took it to the lake to see if it would float and maybe even run? It didn't sink, yay so we moved on to a test run just to see what would happen... 3300rpm max! So back onto the trailer it went and back to the garage for a little diagnosing, low and behold I found the cat wedged into the lower stinger. I went ahead and pulled the cat out, reassembled and took it out for a test run (Sorry to those that warned against it, but I had to know if it would grenade before spending more on it). Thats when my son did a fly-by at 40mph and landed on top of the GPR putting a 4" hole in the left side of the hull. Ehhh whats a little more fiberglassing? lol He's ok, im ok and the thing can be repaired... it was a good day!
So long story short, It ran pretty good with no cat / no d-plate. I now have the d-plate installed and will be headed to the lake in the moring to see what its really got. I'm hoping for a major performance gain?
I'm like a kid on Christmas eve here, I cant wait till the morning!!!

Kinda hard to see with the glare but the damage was just above the numbers there.. took the side then up and over the ridge area.
I've about had it with fiberglassing I think, I just want to ride the dang things!
