RXT-X what should it run with these mods

08 Rxt-X with the following mods
4" Kanaflex intake with Sno bend
    Free flow exhaust
    Ride plate holes filled
Stock intake grate with wings cut off
285lb rider with moderate riding experience

water temp 71 degrees air temp 70 degrees
best GPS speed today was 69.6 Best number Ive seen ever was 71.6
    But mostly it runs 69.5-69.8

top Rpms today were average of 8140 it did peak at 8200 a few different times.

Where should I be speed wise? I see others here and the speeds seem to be much faster than mine, either my GPS is off or theirs just seems to read faster.

You'll tach out before you reach top end if you don't repitch the prop...

We did those mods to my father's TX, but used a R&D adapter, Riva Grate, and removed the F/A from the manifold...Still need to fill the ride plate holes, but got 72.5 out of it after repitching the prop..Consistant 71's al day on a full tank...

This is what I suspected is the rev limiter is keeping me from getting better speeds, I just ordered a adjustable nozzle and will try that before repitching. I was considering a 15/22r as well, but Im just curious how these other "Stockish" skis are running higher numbers.

Just note where your finger throttle is at WOT (8000-8100) is before you pitch...like 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, etc...This will determine how much bend is needed, and if so, which ring to use.

You should start by choking the setup down with rings, seeing how much of a dropyou get with each ring...If you bottom out on the rings and are still banging the limiter, pitch prop a little then toss the biggest ring in, and repeat the process...

See what your results are and set it up to your liking...Remember, the larger rings will net a better holeshots, while the smaller rings are for top end. Get the pitch/ring combo right, and you can simply swap rings depending on weather, as you can do that at the water quicker than pulling the prop and bending

I think your speed is right for your rider weight. My brother in law and I proved that 40 pounds rider weight difference is good for 0.8-1.0 mph on lots of side by side testing.

The T-X soft limiter kicks in at 8200, so 8140 is about pefect rpm for the T-X.

I've done losts of prop testing and it seems 12.5/23 pitch works great for the T-X for sick accelleration and good top end speed.

I think you should get the prop tweeked by Erik at www.speedfreeksracing.com FIRST, then think about the nozzle later. What do you really want, accelleration or top end speed, or a combination?? You WILL lose acceleration with the 83 nozzle, but gain a little top end speed.
