    Burning oil or?

    I have approx 100 hours on my RXP's motor. (On Motor #2 after washer failure, then timing chain)

    This past weekend, the ski threw a "low-oil code" off. A quick check confirmed the oil was down a little. I have put 45 hours on the ski this season. Changed oil in the first week of season. Running a stock X charger with other small mods.

    Question: I plan on running Rude 2 or the Mini-rude set up next year. Maybe even go with 8500 RPMs)
    But, with this oil consumption question/possible issue, I might re-consider. ANy thoughts/feedback?

    I have the same question. My RXT is completely stock so I figure burning some oil is normal.

    ..Interesting post Kman.

    Unfortunately, when my code came up, my engine Cut out, causing my face to hit handlebars on a big wake, hence small cut on my chin. WOndering how long these motors could last, especially with mods.

    First check for oil leaks.

    Is there oil in the hull. {leaking seal on your driveshaft)

    Is your exhaust smoke white? { your burning oil in your engine}

    Is the oilseal in your supercharger ok? { pull the hose and check if there is oil}

    Your engine may consume some oil,if it's not to much it's not a problem.

    But don't wait for the low oil signal.

    After every ride check your oil level.
