    06' RXT engine failure

Anybody ever see the front of the supercharger snaped off? Hard to tell what happened first this was a fresh water stock engine with 150hrs. The SC was rebuild with a SD kit at 100hrs. The visable damage is it took out the complete SC shaft/housing/ect, the Flywheel gear, bendix gear, possibe stator, and the timing chain is broke and a part it cracked off the cases near the timing chain. It may be where the chain guide fits?. I have not taken it apart any further wanted to see if anyone has seen something like this before?

I will be in the market for a 185 HP SD engine to replace this one.

i have seen the end bolt on the sc being over tightned and as a result it snapped off but this was on a skinny 05 shaft that had been on and off waaaay to many times. lucky it just took out the double tooth gear.

I have seen this before. i found it to be s/c bearing failure. When the bearings let go the shaft wobbles (or locks up) causing the gear (jaws) and washers to collide with the gears inside the motor. A friend had his entire shaft fall into the motor. It was messy, but we got it sorted. motor coming out - no question. sorry.

Both bearings are still on the shaft and spin free. The gear at the end of the SC is exploded and all the clutch is missing. The SC shaft may have failed first or after someshing else jamed the gears. The shaft broke right where the oil hole is for the needle bearing.

Both? How many bearings do you see? s/b a lot more than 2.
