    Service code breakdown.

Ran my ski hard all day w/ no problems and at the end an f1 code shut me down. hit both buttons and I thought it said CHARG. I assumed it was charger related. Proceeded to check everything SC related and even changed the SC oil(just did it 30 hrs ago)but everything seemed fine. Unless u count the lil wear spot on the belt(70 hrs).

I got a shop manual and looked it up but all I could find is CHAR which has to do w the temp guage in the IC. Checked that and it's seems fine. Anything I may be missing? Ski seems to be running fine after restart.

    Blue,

A few questions since u seem to have ur chit together

    1. The ski has 70 hrs on it and never f1 CHAR came up. What could be some reasons that this is now occuring? Anything I should be looking for that may be contributing to high temps that may bite me in the ass later. SC is stock.

    2. How do u get ur info so quick. Is there a feature on GH that allows u to save threads that you want in a favorites folder or something like that so u can pull it up at a later date?

    3. How do you post w a thread link and where do you get the thread link?

    Thanks for your help

I use a dual monitor setup at home and work. Makes searching a breeze.

You problem is old news. I recall Born Riding going through the samething, his problem was a bad sensor. No idea what caused it either.

As for the F1 code, Check your ohms on the IC temp sensor.

Remove it and heat some water to 122 °F, insert the tip of the sensor in the water while its hot and check the resistance between the 2 pins. You should be approx 78.5 ohms.

Some info on how to use a meter http://repair2000.com/resistance.htm

All this info came from the manual pg 410

If you need a sensor, get it from www.cyclepartsnation.com much cheaper and fast shipping. The p/n is 21176-3758 SENSOR,WATER TEMP

The sensor is the same the exhaust, oil and IC.
