putting a RXP pump on the 4tec XPL
Well got my RXP 159.8mm pump in yesturday. (thanks shooter) It fits perfect on the 98 XPL, even the steering and trim cables line up with some adjusting. now i just gotta drill threw the right spot for the reverse cable and mount a reverse handle. yup gonna have reverse finally after owning this thing since 98. got a rxt driveshaft coming in on friday that ill taper and turn down to fit threw the berring and adapt to my 2 peice driveline.
since the install of the 4tec motor and especially adding the external ic, RR ecu, bored tb,etc, etc the scat 148mm was just not big enough. was spinning a 16/24 pitch 3blade and was all over the rev limiter right from the punch. still was able to run a 75.6mph without any sc or internal mods.
anyway my goal is still to break 80mph by mudbug 3 and possible have not only "the first 4tec XPL" but also "the first XPL to break the 80mph mark."
hoping with the addition of a larger diameter pump with possibly a 15/20 solas, added the vortex, and i need to true hull and level the rideplate and fill plate holes, that i will be much closer to my goal.

Glad to hear it man, it's nice to follow a frankenstein success story like this. The potential is there, you just need to harness it.

got the driveshafts done again. I ended up redoing both driveshafts. modifying a brand new GTX & RXT driveshafts. while i had it all apart again I also replaced all the carrier and threw hull berrings and seals too.
sent my charger off to jerry for the vortex impellor and steel washers install. more boost buddy
I just gotta put the hoses, seat clip, hulky skegs and install the reverse stuff. and its ready for water testing again.
Im sure theres going to be alot of prop and nozzle ring tweeking before its perfect but im hoping to pick up a few MPH from the new mods.
Still dreaming of a 80MPH ski by mudbug 3.
I gotta be able to sqeeze 4.4mph more outa somewhere

Have you seen the XPL4-tec that piranha-racing have built in belgium? I believe that's around 300hp, not sure if they've hit 80mph yet though?
