FZR for Flat gay water, Ultra for the real water (surf)

Both have great potential for nearly the same coin.

"Gay" water? The FZR handles surf just fine, it's a big hull. The FZR without question has more power and speed potential.

This is kind of like Ultra vs. GPR, Round 2, 10 years later. Ultra owners were always ripping on the GPR back then (I bought my first GPR in 2000), but the GPR proved superior in essentially every respect. In fact one Ultra owner I raced not only lost, he got tossed sideways off his ski at about 60 mph in heavy chop and was almost run over.

I ride with a fzr and leave him behind when it gets rough. IMO it depends what kinda water you ride. For the caymans, ultra no doubt. I been there and that place is made for the ultra!

I'm not bashing the fz at all, I like them and amazed at the potential they have

The FZR definitely has more top speed potential, but it's not because of power. Tim Judge has been making 400+ hp on 4 stroke Kawi's for years. The Ultra's hull is very limiting for top speed, but that's what makes it so great in rough water. The FZR may handle the surf ok, but it won't handle it as good as an Ultra. Especially if it's setup to run flat water. Top speed and rough water abilities are a trade off. If all someone wants is a low 70's mph ski, the Ultra is the cheapest to do it.

Are the 260s having any problems? and yea were i live is ultra heaven,But the fz's are doing good and its something different kind of a hard choice i ride my 15f in real rough stuff all the time and got use to it so its no problem I just want a stable bike and has speed I know both or good choices, use of the bike will be offshore and cc racing and some flats/light wind chop the most

The real question is how do the skis compare modded to modded (say $5k invested on both)?
