Question Removed supercharger and found this...???

Took out the SC on my 2005 RXP to replace the clutch washers and found this laying at the bottom of the hull? Any ideas on what it could be? Looks like some sort of bean bag.....? Thanks

This is where it was in the hull..

Its an oil absorber. It can get wet but will absorb only oil even when soaked with water.

Either a oil absorber as mentioned above or its a desiccant bag to remove moisture. Sometimes dealers use em when they winterize.

This is also possible. I'm used to seeing them in a tub though so i didn't think of it. That sounds more likely.

It was in the bottom of my 05 RXP which does not leak oil, should I leave it in there? My 04 GTX did not have one? Did it come from the factory with it?

Those are designed to capture moisture... however I've never seen one come from the factory that way

I think I will take it out then. I do not have any leaks and it is stored indoors so I do not think it will be necessary, right?

dry it out and put it in your gun safe. If you don't have a gun safe, buy one, fill it with guns, and then put it in the safe.
