Thread: Galvanized Trailers

I am thinking about getting a single trailer and a local trailer manufacturer up here is selling non painted galvanized trailers. I also notice that the Yacht Club trailers are galvanized, but are painted. What are the advantages of both? The prices will be comparable.

as far as I know, paint on top of galvanizing is a no-no. the plain old galvanized will last the longest. I think the yacht clubs are either painted -or- galvanized. can't be both.

There are some companies powercoating galvanized but I would think this would be an option on the high end brands.
IMO, other than looks, paint on top of galvanized is a waste of money.
Galvanized will out last a non-galvanized trailer, period.
