    Prop

What prop are you guys using on the 70mph skis? Unless i can get my rev limit raised, I have a feeling I am going to have a pretty steep prop.

Hmmm, does anyone run 70mph with the stock rev limit? I'm thinking it's going to take around a 17/33 prop.

I am beginning to think it isn't possible to go that fast with the stock ecu. Today, with a 17/31 prop at 6500+ rpm I wasn't able to reach 68 mph. Granted, the weather was terrible, but may have only cost me a mph. Anyone have any suggestions? Any vendors sell any products that might help me reach my goal?

nitro or superjim and machine your ride plate and give you 1mph. Or machine the normally aspirated rideplate for your turbo ski.

Thanks! I am already having trouble with it porpoising using a 5 degree wedge. Will the ride plate make this any better or worse? I have asked several vendors for imformation, so far only MacBoost has responded. It sure is easier to spend money on my RXP-X

plate will put more pressure to keep the nose up.. might help with porpoise.. stepping the spons helps a lot but can scrub 0.5mph on glass.

Try re-aligning the trim via the top heim joint to re-center the steering nozzle to the jet nozzle. This needs attention after installing the wedge. Also, did you do the free stuff.....?

Thanks dav_dman and 1tommygunner1927. I appreciate any and all the advice I can get! I don't know what "free mods" you're talking about, but they sure sound like stuff I need to try.

    Free mods are:

align the the intake grate to ride plate (one continuous flat surface)
shimming or grinding ride plate mounting pads
    fill the ride plate holes
    adding or removing excess sealer/silicone

    polishing bottom of ride plate

I have also polished the bottom of the ride plate to almost a mirror finish getting rid of the rough surface, the key is to have a flat surface across the bottom of the ski, one thing that the boat racers have done also is rain x the hulls closing up the poors on the gelcoat, also it makes it easier to clean then you can also wax the hull to where it will slide of the bunks of the trailer with one hand, small things that can improve speed, that have been done over the years.
