    Going ocean riding next season

    Hey guys.

I just found out I will be going to the ocean for a couple months next summer.

I know its far off, but I rather start getting the GPR ready now.

What are some basic mods that I should do to keep my ski safe for the ocean. I've always rode on lakes, I don't really know how much of a difference there is but im sure you guys do.

    Riva Flame Arrester
    Riva EFI
    SHO Nozzle
    Solas 13/19
    R&D Ride Plate
    R&D Intake Grate 1200
    PPK

depends on how rough the ocean is. if it's choppy i would just stick some washers underneath the tabs. it's its just completely rough just leave it the way it is.

Make sure your vessel will be compliant w/the boating regs. In LA, if you're in a body of water and more than 2 miles from any shore, you're required to have a signaling device (read "flare/flare gun"). You may also want to invest in a VHF radio.

How can you check this on a gpr? Where does the water exit? And does it just run after i shut the ski off (i usually hear a noise for a few seconds after shutdown). Or also when i'm running the ski>?

Fill up the inside of your ski! 10 gallons or so put the drain plugs in tip the nose up and turn on the ski water will come out in the pump area on the left side. Lee

Do you mean looking in through the nozzle, a sort of grate looking exit?

No on the left side of the hull in the pump area you will see a black plactic nut that has threads. Lee

If it were me, I would put the stock ride plate back on shimmed down in the rear & get a 3* reduction nozzle & extended tabs.
