pto extra pieces left over
had a metal clutch washer failier...had to remove the rear pto cover....all went well ..
but found a little rubber cap about the size of a 20 oz soda bottle cap ..a little smaller ..dont know if it came from inside the pto or not.. if so have no idea where didnt see it in the exploded view ..
could have just been from something else and just inside the hull ..everything ends up under the engine ..
any ideas ...ill try to get a pic up

That sounds like the piece that goes on the end of the driveshaft. Please post a photo of said rubber cap... Rpn

had a bear of a time getting the collar off the drive shaft .....
just a thought
it shouldnt rust but they do ..grease will sling off and make a mess but motocycle chain wax wont ..it will stay on and resist water ..and keep it from rusting ..going to give it a try ...

That black cap goes on the end of your drive shaft that goes in the pto. As far as your washer goes , you are abviously still missing some of it. Did you pull the front oil pump cover?

yep found 1/4 of it there... flushed the pan w gas...blew it out w air and gas through the head ..did find some fragments.....hoping it finds its way to the front pump screen befroe it gives metrouble ..going to give it a try and pull the front pump in a couple of rides..and see
i am just glad i dont have to take it all apart again
