    broken screws

hi i have a slight problem with my polaris freedom. The side fins on the ski have a few broken screws on them making the move a fair bit. The question i have is how do i remove the broken screws from the hull of my ski so i can put new ones on.

I suggest taking all the bolts/screws out, and remove the sponson entirely.

Then you should be able to get at the bolt stubs, and one way or another get them out.

If the threaded inserts in the hull are not sealed on the inside end, then use silicone sealant on the bolt threads when you put them back on.

If you can, post up some photos of the problem area, and your repair process

i have took them off but all the bolt srews are broken flush so i cant get a grip of them. Is it possible to drill them out then tap them?

Drill them, and use a bolt extractor. Also soak them with penetrating oil.

Sometimes I have success using a Dremel cutting wheel to create a slot in the end of the stub. You may have to slightly cut into the surrounding material to get the slot deep enough.

Then use a hand powered impact screwdriver to loosen the screw.
