09-12-2009, 04:53 PM #2Cam phase sensor signal missing
Possible cause:Damaged sensor, damaged circuit wires, damaged connector, damaged ECM pins or damaged tooth wheel.Service action:For the CPS, check for 190 to 290 ohms between terminals A-5 and A-19 of ECM connector.Check continuity for circuits A-20, A-34 and terminal 4 on engine connector
For the CAPS, check for 12 volts on sensor connector pin 3.

#P0344 have to pull motor?????
weird thing is it ran fine(last wknd peace river)...
it didn't throw the code til i was flushing it on the hose when i got home.....??
Jerry rebuilt my SC at 98 hrs(NO FAILURE)w/riva washers.....and the whine is totally there....
how does one check the cam phase sensor???
This thing has occassionally flashed "12volt low" for months now.....could that be related??
Again,it runs,idles fine......??
I really don't trust any of the dealers up here,my only option is back to Riva(bought it there)but thats over 3 hrs away!!!
any input would be appreciated.

Will, remove the valve cover and look at the cam chain if is it there or no!
If it is missing that mean big job waiting for you, if not we can talk in more details

Is your ski still running?
Otherwise could be a sensor problem.
This can happen ,maybe only a new sensor and the problem is fixed.
If tops is loose in the hull int won't run ok but you have the wrong errorcode for that.I guess you installed tops back again.
Do the first inspection yourself, check the electrical circuit, and check the camchain to be on the safe side.

Ken, more than likely it's just a bad cam position sensor.
