    oetiker clamps

im getting ready to replace the oil lines in my venture, and the fuel lines in my raider. is it worth using oetiker clamps on everything, vs zip ties? do they even make them small enough for the oil lines? im going to try the high octane line from fuellinez.biz, unless you guys tell me otherwise.

Yes I love using the oetiker clamps. I have replaced most of the clamps on the ski with them. In my case I tore down the entire ski to the hull when I got it to replace and repair as required. But I would at the very least use them on the oil lines. Not as much of an issue on the fuel lines but you might as well. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get the tool with your clamps. I get everything from McMaster Carr. Check out their site and measure the lines you are going to use and then pick the clamps that suit your needs. They are very helpful and keep decent hours.

    Good Luck

I was just about to post and ask where to get these clamps, and what tool to buy.

Thank you very much to all!

I get my clamps from a beverage distributor, beats the mc master price by quite a bit. I go thru them by the bagful. I found having a shorty pair of crimper pliers is pretty useful in some places. I haven't had to use the side pliers once.

I'm not comfortable using zip ties on anything, neither is my insurance agent. When I have to, I double up and use a larger size. If I could find some quality metal clip ties in the smaller sizes I might sleep better, but almost everything is now made in China and the quality varies considerably. I don't recall breaking so many ties cinching them down before I made the switch to oetikers

Hard to tell from the drawing - you sure it does both pinches?

Yep the pic is not correct.
From the description. Side-jaw pincer is
good for tight spaces because you can use it parallel or perpendicular to the hose

Just ordered that tool, 5 bags of clamps (25 per) and other assorted SS bolts, nuts, washers from McM.

    $200 later...
