    It was the hurricane that hit in 2004. You're looking laterally down the back side of the wave to the right. Notice how high the spray is behind the ski? That's how I was before the pic was taken. 12-14 foot waves that day.

    The water "gives" enough to take up some of the shock, but your knees still get a workout. Unlike an MXer, you can't alter the attitude of the ski in the air with the throttle, so it's all body positioning (even though many keep the throttle pinned anyway, which is hard on the motor!)
