Where is all this metal coming from?

I can`t explain where these metal particles are coming from.
after ski was back together with fresh oil, it was run for several hours and changed oil and filter .. I was told it was from the new HD clutches wearing in...PR...

Andy... do you have warranty on this machine, i forget?

if yes, then ride the balls out of it and hope it blows up bad so u geta new short block (or long block if ur lucky) ... hell, rubber band the throttle wide open on the trailer until it goes BOOM! na just kidding!!

if u have no warranty, i think it MIGHT be worth pulling the motor and inspecting things and fixing anything that is worn before u have a catasrophic failure with a big bill. i bet your oil pumps are probably trashed again already from pushing all these metal pieces around for the past 20+ hours... it could already be on its demise with slowly deteriorating oil pressure, who knows.

generally, iron or steel will be fine black or dark particles, the shiny flakes are aluminum.

well, there are only a handful of iron parts in the engine that could wear. cam, cam gear, rods, crank, oil pump rotors, piston rings, and SC parts. may be more but thats what comes to mind.

When you remove the oil filter, look between the pleated filter media for anything that gets trapped in there...PR...
