Piston Install - 2002 Virage txi

HELP - any help with my question is appreciated

Hi all - my first post and question. I'm pretty new at all this.

Question - when replacing the pistons, what direction should the arrow on the piston be pointing (exhaust, intake or ?). Do piston manufacturers all follow the same convention?

    Thanks

    Dave

FYI - I found in the Polaris Service Manual that the arrow on ther piston should point toward the exhaust.
