GP1300R Pump Question ... Holeshot v. Top Speed
I have read on the conversion section of this forum that the GPRXPs are dogs out of the hole with the OEM yamaha pump. Why is that? I have seen big bore GPRs that seem to hook up well with the yamaha pump. Is the Sea Doo pump that much better than the OEM 05+ GP1300R pump at hooking up?
If it is better, why? Cavitation problems on the yamaha?
Also, what about using the skat pumps versus the sea doo pumps? Seems like if you are going sea doo, it is not that much more to go skat. Is that accurate?
I did search and read quite a bit. I am just wondering which is the way to go once you start making big power.
I would like incredible holeshot with good top end.

The massive torque of the SC 4stroke overpowers the stock Yami pump out of the hole. A good prop/grate combo does pretty well with a stock SD motor but nothing over that.
Larger hud design and 4 more viens aid to the traction without to much speed loss. So far my fastest speed has been with the Yami Skat 14 vein pump but the SD is still better out of the hole.
