    oil injection lines

Hi I'm in the process of replacing the oil lines on my ultra. What do I need to remove to get to them. I have the flame arrester off what else should I take off to make it easier?

    Dave

I did mine last winter. I don't remember it being difficult. When you get the flame arrestor off, the carbs can be lifted off as well.

I safety wired my new hoses back on.

Make sure you carefully inspect the oil pump cable. Mine was worn almost in half, and others have found theirs to be worn, too. I got a new cable and it was bad right out of the bag. It had a couple of broken strands, so I sent it back and told the vendor to inspect the replacement before they sent it to me.

You may want to pull the carbs but if you do be carfull when putting them back to be sure the gaskets stay in place. A cattle syringe is helpful to prime the lines before installing them.

You shouldnt need new gaskets unless you find one in bad shape. No need to remove the exhaust.

    Morris,

I am finally getting around to doing these lines. Should I get 1/8" ID with a 1/4"OD or a 3/16OD? I found it available with both and want to retain the factory stainless clamps. http://shop.ebay.com/eileenangel/m.h...osacat=0&bkBtn=
