    2001 Genesis issues

I have a 2001 Genesis Ficht. I purchased the ski with a possible bad emm. I purchased a 2002 emm and matching injectors. It seemed to start better and somewhat idle. Took it to the water to test run it. Seems to smoke quite a bit, does't idle right, need to keep throttle on a bit, no rpm, only 3000. Unpluged the the tps made it worse, back changing plugs with new ones. Any ideas where to start. Fuel pressure is good 22psi, battery freshly charged, maintains voltage for cranking as shown in the manual.

    Have you checked the basics?
Compression, ignition coil ohms and grounding, etc...

Does the red lamp on the display light up, or any messages appear on the display?

Have you checked for correct slack in the throttle cable?

Is it possible the engine has previously ingested water?

Compression is good 130 front, 130 center 125 rear, but I just put in a new piston, it was running but I checked the compression earlier saw a small chip in the piston so I changed the jug and piston. I haven't checked the ohms or grounds except at the battery, aside from the ground to the block, where else. No lights flashing or messages on the display, reads 13.1v while running . There is no signs of water, what would I look for?

When you unplugged the TPS, did the IDLE get better, or worse?

It will not be able to rev up with the TPS unplugged - that is a start and idle test only.

When the replacement injectors were installed, were they installed onto the same cylinders they came off the donor engine? PTO to PTO, and so on?

Are you sure the replacement EMM is 100% good?

Since you had the cylinder head off, I would re-ground the ignition coils, just in case. And make sure all the connections to the coils are actually properly connected.

TPS electrical connector can cause problems, check, clean and tighten the metal pin sockets

While you are at it, check the CPS flywheel sensor for correct ohms (about 140, must be under 200 ohms).

When the tps was unplugged, it was worse, the injectors were installed in the same way they came off, the donor did not dissassemble them he sent them as they came out. No guarantees on the emm, said they came off a running ski I will perform those tests tomorrow.... By the way, I have been reading your post...great!!!!

I used an ohm meter to do the plug wires, around 750 each wire....attached are pictures of the plugs, right/ front, center/ center, left/ rear

In my opinion, the Center cylinder looks to be working, the other 2 -not as well.
