What year is this SeaDoo GTX?

Was there a 2002 SeaDoo GTX 951cc carberated model sold??
I think this must be a 2001. Its' yellow, gray seats, black hull.

Isn't this a 951cc motor, 135 hp. Would you say this ski can
    do 60mph??

I'm going to test run tomorrow and I'm bringing the $$ to buy it!

In 2002 they made a GTX with the new style hull and a 951 along with a GTX with a 4 tec NA.

Yes, Shibby. But you're such a long ways away! I'm definitely going to get an RXT. Now that I've seen the red/white '07, that's my machine! I just need something now to ride with my son. May keep or may sell when I get the new one.

Was going down to get the '06 RXT this month, but the viper red just didn't appeal to me plus the potential SC blowing up! Maybe they'll fix it in '07, in any case I'll get max warranty!

Actually that is wrong. The 4 tec is the only one with the new hull. The GTX 951 is the old style hull...started in 96. I have an 02 just like the one in the pic. Best handling 3-seater hull ever.

in 2002 there were 4 GTX models

    GTX
    GTX RFI
    GTX DI
    GTX 4-tec

the 951 DI and 4-tec were both in the newer bigger hull

only the RFI and carbed 951 came in the older style GTX hull

RQ, that looks like a 951 Carbed in the pics.

I would guess that like the 97XP, that ski is WAY under-powered for the hull.

Even with PPG's treatment (pow !#$*&@) that ski only hits 60 if it's towed on the highway.

I completely agree that the old style GTX hull (96-02) was the best performing 3 seater hull SD ever made.

As for Sea-doo ONLY having the new hulled 4-tec in 2002...YOU ARE WRONG !! In 2002, 3 different GTX skis were offered. They were:

    1. GTX 951, with carbs and old style hull.(like yours)
    2. GTX DI, with 951 FI and new style hull
    3. GTX 4-tec with 155hp 4 stroke. and new hull

A test in PWC Illustrated, September 2002 compared the new hulled 951 DI with a 2001 951 DI. (old hull). The old hull was quicker and faster than the new one, both having identical power. The new is 4mph slower and acceleration is significantly less than with the old hull.

Shibby is correct, I didn't see his post before I made mine and I had left out one model...the GTX RFI
