Question Fuel filter and pulse line ?

    Hello!

1- I'm going to add a second fuel supply line to a GP1200R 00' and will also replace the existing fuel filter. So replacing the OEM filter and adding a second one is worth $50 ($25 each, 66V-24560-00-00) plus shipping and waiting time for the filters alone.

Is it really worth the money? Will a pair of generic marine inline fuel filter do the same work? How much hours do the OEM last?

2- I see the OEM pulse lines come from factory with special clamps. I bought my used ski with regular SS hose clamps on the pulse lines. I notice this type of clamp provide a good tight seal but it damages the outer hose lining until they break. Also seen many guys here killing their engines due to a damaged pulse line.

Will plastic tie wraps due a good reliable seal? Most probably the pulse lines will not suffer any damage with tie wraps?

I see no reason to run 2 fuel lines on a 1200 engine. I run a second fuel line on triple pipes or BB 1390 single's and up .

Its converted to a 1300 single pipe with some other mods (riva stage II +++).

I always run two but that's me. I do it for back up protection, I lost a cylinder once due to fuel starvation. So for me this is cheap insurance. Now for the pulse line question. I put new ones on and I use spring clamps to hold them, these will see more pressure than a fuel line will so trusting them to zip ties is not recommended.

Hum, So it seems not to be necessary? Thats better now...
What about a restrictor in the return line, still not necessary? Just do the appropiate jetting and thats it?

Any suggestions on the single fuel filter replacement? pulse line?

Are your restrictors drilled out in the carbs? if not then you have no need for return restrictor.

    Not drilled...

Where did you get those spring clamps? rust resistant?

I got them from McMaster and they are coated worked great for me on fresh water ski, but I had some on a motor that went to Mass and ran in salt and they corroded on that one.
