    egt guages

i see a few people using o2 sensors to monitor the a/f ratios...

    is anyone using ..egt guages???

i would think they would be more accurate

especially if you could wire them into the stock buzzer replacing the exhaust temp sensor..you would know instantly even if you wernt looking to shut down ..before you burn things up

i would think with a couple of resistors or something you should be able to but electronics isnt my thing

    thoughts

i am working on an idea of where you could put them before the exhaust gets cooled

I run EGT for all three AFR seams to be way more accurate But EGT at a known AFR is very usefull.

I know this info, is there any gain?
If this is the only reason for the egt gauge I think A/R ratio is enough, Am I right?

not any gain. if your A/R ratio is right your egt should ok. but imo its good to double check everything and to see what egt,s your running.

also if you have a egt reading for each cylinder u can tune each cylinder separately if you have the ecu to do so.

tune your ski by using AFR, once you have good AFR, find your EGTS then monitor your EGTs... people are doing this because the cost of the AFR sensors are much more expensive and a people on this board seem to go thru O2 sensors very quickly. The Egt sensor is much tougher for our envionment and lasts longer.

EGTs are different for every ski based and can vary because of the weather, but is a good cheap way to gauge.
