951 WSM rings question
The wsm std piston kit rings come with a silver and a black ring. Which is top, and which is bottom?

I have been told that WSM rings are the closest to OE out there but, this info is not confirmed.
OE is silver on top, black on bottom.
If they are done like OE, the silver ring will not fit all the way into the bottom groove. Should have a dot on it that will need to face up.
Hope this helps.

there is no dot on wsm rings, just the size stamped into one side. i put the silver on top of my wsm pistons that only lasted 8hrs.

put the black one in the trash , and then put the silver one on top of it . use the piston to hold both rings down . then cover all of it with five pounds of dog pooh ; to keep any one from getting them out .
