    Seal them Transoms!

I resealed my SHO transom 2 weeks ago. Went out today and there was def less cavitation. 81.8 today on a RD 13/24 no less and full tank.

BTW, I think the shudder or vibration I have around 4,000 rpm is from the BOV. It seems like the air can't get thru the IC (type 20) fast enough until it is forced at higher RPM's (with the Riva E1 wheel).

At the center top some of the seal was blown out. I also took advantage of this being off to seal the bottom up well. Yamaha did a pretty good job, but like Jerry stated in his post on this there just is not much material there to hold the seal.

Not much to it if you have done the impeller before. Just remove the Housing and then the Transom. Clean all of the old sealant off and seal it back up. I think you couuld even leave the housing on the Transom taking it off in one piece. I used 1211 to seal it. I think Jerry used slow cure 5200. Along with sealing the void in the transom with epoxy I sealed up the void in that rubber piece that goes in between the transom and the rideplate as well. Cheap & quick while you are in there. ...

Damn it. Guess I will go ahead and do it. Do you have any pics? Was there any sealer missing from there like Jerry had?

Thanks Jerry and for the heads up on this.
I had a big ole grin when I looked at the GPS. I was expecting maybe 81 even.

I'm having all the stuff in my signature below (in red) being done right now. Since all the crap will be out of there anyway this would be a good time to do it, yes? I don't want to pay him twice to pull the same stuff out.
