    Aluminum Welder Needed!

    Hello Hulk,

Does anyone know of a welder in the Jersey Shore area that can weld the plugs on my 787 headpipe over the weekend? I was out today on the maiden voyage of this basket case gtx that I just finished and one of the plugs is leaking very bad... So, i would love to be back out on the water real soon if anyone can help.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Sheet metal shops, machine shops, and custom bike builders often do piece-work welding. You'll just have to pick up the yellow Pages and get on the phone. Getting it done before Monday could be tough, good luck!

If you're so anxious to ride it Saturday, clean up the area and put some JB Liquid-Weld, works like a charm.

Obviously this will be a band-aid job, enough to get you riding, but be sure you do it right & weld it up on Monday.

    Good luck.

thats what I did and it held up all day but then the one underneath started leaking and I was all out of JBweld.

I've used stuff like this for several aluminum items:

Works quite well for light -duty joining & filling. I wonder if it would work for your pipe?
