    04 RXP SC problem

I rebuilt my bosses SC (among other things) it ran for about 4 seconds before making an odd noise. Upon disassembly found the back side of the SC inpeller rubbing slightly on the case. Further inspection found the bearing at the SC side had come apart. I know what I screwed up (and so does my boss) but what i don't understand is.....

how does the SC get oil. The directions on the overhaul kit show an oil hole in the case they don't want you to plug with grease but there is no oil hole in this case. There was no oil in the bearings when I dis assembled it either. The bearings where blue from heat. Probably because I put it together wrong but not having oil didn't help.

    thanx for you help. Mel

Only 08 and newer chargers have the oiler hole. Older ones do not

Mel, there is an oil squirter in the PTO housing that squirts oil onto the clutch and some of that oil ends up in the hollow portion of the SC housing between the two bearings.

On 08's oil is squirted down the center of the supercharger shaft.

    Another Question

Can I drill a hole like the newer SC's have to "help" it get oil?

I mean a hole in the case, not the shaft.

That oil hole in the newer SC's is to let oil out, not let oil in.
