    Becareful out there

    http://www.havasunews.com/articles/2...8525214678.txt

    Still not sure what the real story is, but I know that area quite well, and there's a few gentle bends in the river. If she was just "floating" down river, and the boat was hauling a$$ upriver, this is what happens.

    Just remember, we are invisible to boats. Just like when you're riding a motorcycle, always assume the boat doesn't see you, and give them the right of way. We are far more maneuverable.

    Some of you are coming here for the Worlds Finals, and bringing your ski's for recreation. Just be alert!!!

    Link didn't work for me. Try this one;

    Conflicting information on what happened;
    "...started turning into the path of the approaching boat"

    "... was adrift on the river about three miles south of the bridge on Interstate 40 when she and a passenger were struck by a boat..."

    Woman killed in PWC crash
    Boat operator uninjured in Colorado River accident

    By Staff Reports
    Saturday, September 26, 2009 9:17 PM MST

    A California woman was killed on the Colorado River at about 4:15 p.m. Friday while operating a personal watercraft that was involved in a collision with a boat. Her passenger was unharmed in the crash.

    Sandra A. Door, 29, of Garden Grove, Calif., was adrift on the river about three miles south of the bridge on Interstate 40 when she and a passenger were struck by a boat driven by Brandon Morgan, who was traveling northbound on the waterway.

    The two were hit after Door started turning into the path of the approaching boat, according to a press release issued Saturday by San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

    Morgan told deputies he attempted to avoid the collision to no avail and was uninjured in the crash. Both PWC occupants were ejected into the water upon impact.

    Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Golden Shores Fire Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded. Emergency personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

    San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the incident.

    Six people have died on the Colorado River and Lake Havasu this year.
